As many of you know, our former home in Charlotte, the Ramada Airport Conference Center, had fallen into bad disrepair over the past few years, and the entire place closed down about a month after our last event. The building was sold, and since then we have been trying to negotiate a new home with other hotels in the area.
So far we have not found anything suitable. As such, there will be no Fetish Fair Fleamarket in Charlotte in September 2011. We’re out of time to negotiate something with a hotel, and still have time to put together a decent event. So we are canceling September and postponing to the spring. (I would have announced this sooner but I kept hoping I’d have a new date to announce too! No such luck, yet, but we keep trying.)
We’re now aiming at the spring, hopefully early March or late April, but possibly May. If you know of other leather/fetish/BDSM events in the Carolinas or southeast that we should avoid conflict with, please let me know. (Frolicon in ATL will be early next year, I know, April 6-8 2012, so we will be trying to make sure a few weeks are between them and us!)
Meanwhile, the weekend that we used to be on in September is now when the NCFAF North Carolina Fetish Arts Festival will be: September 24th! So please support those folks, who are putting their event on in Durham. Charlotte will host LeatherFET the first weekend of December. CAPEX continues to be quite active with classes and social every month. I see SingleCell is running Purgatory on August 20th at Amos’.
So don’t tell me there’s nothing to do…!
